The rain drizzles and snow flurries did not deter us from visiting Historic Kirtland on Sunday. In fact, we were lucky the weather chased away other prospective tourists because we got the tour guides all to ourselves. They were eager to answer our questions (and Emma had many).
We toured the sawmill, ashery, and the Whitney's home. Here we are pictured behind the counter at the Newell K. Whitney Store:
All the structures were maticulously restored (or rebuilt) to accurately depict life during Kirtland's prime.
The first temple built in this dispensation still stands just down the road from Historic Kirtland. We caught the last tour of the day and were able to go inside. It's amazing to think of the labor and sacrifice that went into building this holy place.
In our rush to catch all the tours, we missed our lunch. We were famished by the dinner hour. 
We found the Hard Rock Cafe in Cleveland and gorged ourselves with burgers and fries.

B-r-r-r-r, it looks cold already! Glad to see that most of you wear hats to keep warm. So glad all of you were able to go to Kirtland. What a place to visit! I would LOVE to go to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame someday...one of the trips to Ohio to visit you. Looking forward to seeing you in December.
We've always wanted to go and visit there, the pictures (& weather) remind me of Seattle with the overcast sky, cold air, wet green trees and road. Wow, what a great trip!
