Over Memorial Day weekend, we went to one special engagement after another. Our ward friends met at Side Cut Metropark on Saturday for a spontaneous picnic. 
The spot we chose was completely shaded by trees, and right next to the children's playground. We also had a huge field for playing catch and frisbee.
We brought KFC's new grilled chicken (not good) and enjoyed the company of ward family. Emma chased babies and ran around with girlfriends.
Jake loved throwing the ball around with Dad (and Dad loved not being at the hospital). It was totally relaxing and completely perfect.

Sounds like a nice day. I can't ever go to KFC without remember the time we were coming back from your cabin, every time we tried to order something off the menu the guy would reply with "uggh we don't have that here."
Emma and my oldest sound like they would get along great, friends and chasing the babies.
How funny. We make the same comment every time we see a KFC. We miss you guys and wish that we were closer. So many memories... Unaccounted for master keys, last minute camping trips, late night shopping trips....
Sounds like a wonderful time, and a beautiful place. Too bad about the KFC. We got our coupons online and our local KFC wouldn't honor them. Said they had run out of grilled chicken. Apparently, it was not a loss.
